MG Training is a provider of the RFU Sports first aid course. This course is specific to the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) and there are only a handful of trainers in the UK.
The RFU has joined forces with lifesaving specialists in the sports and leisure sectors (STA) and Mobilis Healthcare to launch a newly developed first aid qualification for rugby coaches and volunteers.
The RFU Sports First Aid Qualification is a six hour course, where candidates will learn how to deal with a range of first aid situations that occur within rugby. You will learn:
- What to do in a emergency
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- First aid for a unconscious casualty
- First aid for the wounded or bleeding
- How to use first aid equipment
- How to deal with concussion
- How to deal with breaks and sprains
- The employers risk assessment
The course includes continuous assessment of practical skills and a worksheet test of theoretical knowledge leading to the RFU Sports First Aid Appointed Person Award. The Award is fully recognised as a First Aid Appointed Person Qualification, is valid for three years and is easily revalidated.
Organised for the RFU by the STA the course can be easily arranged at a local venue during weekdays, evenings, or weekends.
